Cosa fare sul Freedom Trail
Il Freedom Trail è un percorso pedonale di 2,5 miglia (4 chilometri) segnato da una linea di mattoni rossi sul selciato, che collega 16 siti dell'epoca rivoluzionaria da Boston Common al Bunker Hill Monument, a Charlestown. Passa per la Massachusetts State House, Faneuil Hall, la Old North Church e la USS Constitution, ormeggiata al Charlestown Navy Yard.
Percorrerlo tutto richiede diverse ore; la maggior parte dei visitatori ne copre solo una parte. Non serve alcun trasporto tra una tappa e l'altra, e seguire la linea rossa è gratuito, anche se alcuni siti lungo il percorso, tra cui la Old State House e la Paul Revere House, hanno un biglietto d'ingresso proprio.
Si parte dalle stazioni T di Park Street o Government Center, e bisogna aspettarsi grande affluenza in estate e durante le vacanze scolastiche.
